Nighttime in Sooke and its
surroundings
Nestled on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Sooke is a Canadian
gem, surrounded by natural beauties on the one hand and dynamic
cities on the other.
The to-do-list in Sooke and the surroundings is really rich and
exciting, with sightseeing tours and leisure activities during the
day and clubs, casinos and restaurants for fun nights out.
The District of Sooke is the perfect
destination if you want to spend a relaxing weekend in a rural
environment, without giving up the amenities of a modern city. In
fact, it boasts great accommodations, top-rated restaurants and
shops, as well as amazing parks, rainforests and beautiful beaches.
You are surely not going to get bored
while staying in Sooke; you can start the day with a walk on the
beach, spend the afternoon hiking and exploring East Sooke Regional
Park’s ancient coastal rainforest, and maybe pamper yourself at one
of Sooke’s spas before enjoying your night out gambling or clubbing.
If you don’t feel like going out but you prefer staying in relaxing
in one of the many hotels or cottages of the District, you can
always spend a nice time in the lounge - many facilities offer
activities for the night, you might want to check them out.
Otherwise, if you like to check some of the many casinos in the
surroundings but you don’t feel like leaving the hotel, you can
always use their free wi-fi and
play online games easily from your smartphone.
Sooke and its surroundings: City life in the Vancouver Island
Half an hour drive from Sooke, you can find another dynamic city,
Victoria, Capital of British Columbia. If you are planning to stay
overnight or spend a few days in Victoria, you have plenty of
facilities to choose from, as for example the
Birds of a Feather Bed and
Breakfast, a lovely place situated in Portsmouth Drive. Near the
B&B you can also find one of the many casinos that the capital city
has to offer, the View Royal Casino. This facility is located in the
township of View Royal and includes a wide array of slot machines
and table games.
If you’re not a gambler but you prefer to go clubbing or have a
drink in a fancy place, Victoria has you covered. You can go to The
Shark Club, for example, which is a premier sports bar and grill,
offering amazing West Coast cuisine and also live DJs. Or join
Hermann’s Jazz Club for dinner and live jazz and blues music.
Also, Victoria offers an excellent
dining scene with a long list of restaurants and bistros. Ottavio,
for example, is an Italian family bakery that boasts more than two
hundreds artisan cheeses, while Spinnakers is Canada’s oldest
microbrew pub, definitely worth a visit.
About 1-hour drive from Sooke is Duncan, a lovely city with a lot of
heritage buildings, its famous ‘Totems’, great shops and a nice
nightlife.
In the ‘City of Totems’ you can find a
lot of amazing restaurants, as Just Jakes, perfect if you look for
good food and a tranquil atmosphere. If you prefer a more dynamic
place, you can visit Craig Street Brew Pub instead; it is one of the
liveliest spots in town after dark and it serves its own fine brews
along with an upscale pub menu.
Driving past Duncan, you can find some other cities worth a visit if
you’re looking for fun ways to spend the night. Another destination
for food, fun and entertainment is Casino Nanaimo which offers a
great selection of popular table games and slot machines. Also
located in Nanaimo is Harbour City Bingo which offers both paper and
electronic Bingo.
Chances Playtime Courtenay is another
nice place with slots, bingo, table games and so on, situated in
Courtenay, on the East Coast of Vancouver Island.
With such a wide variety of amenities and natural beauties, the
whole area of the District of Sooke and its surroundings is an
excellent destination for relaxing, dining, hiking, shopping,
gambling, clubbing and so on and so forth. It is the perfect area to
enjoy a fun getaway.
