17 Mile House
Pub Restaurant |

Refreshing beverages, fine food, fun, games and a friendly staff
await you in the pub. Imagine it is 1894 and you are nearing
the end of a long and laborious day's journey on the road to
Leech Town to check on your gold claim. As you round the bend,
dusk is settling in, tired and dusty, your horse is the same,
you anticipate that in ten minutes the warm lights of lanterns
and friendly faces will greet you with food, drink, and a place
to lay your head. Fast forward over 100 years and a traveller on
the same road, now paved, can also look forward to the
hospitality around the bend. Changes have been made, but the 17
Mile House, seventeen miles from Victoria City Hall, has
retained its yesteryear charm. There is even a hitching post, if
a visitor still insists on arriving by horseback. |
